Whisperprop 48 V Hybrid Drive System with innovative eMove rudder control now available from Fischer Panda
The continuous development and enhancement of its delivery range is one of the major concerns of Fischer Panda. Also with regard to their propulsion systems the company is permanently putting their customers requests into practice and optimising their products.
With the eMove Fischer Panda has now succeeded in launching a complete motor mounting with rudder control for their 10 kW 48 V propulsion systems. On the occasion of an in-house distributor workshop the new system was presented for the first time and all participants agreed over the success of the new eMove.
Christian Krause, Fischer Panda employee of the development department for diesel-electric propulsion systems, pointed out the considerable advantages of the new motor-driven mounting: "The system can be combined with a second eMove motor and control stand. Due to the synchronous operation and a redundant bus communication setup high operational safeguards are ensured. The system can always be operated manually by mechanical switches in an emergency. Furthermore the eMove features an integrated heat exchanger for motor cooling. Another huge advantage of the system is the possibility to adjust from 0 to 10° to compensate for the hull s form (angle from stern)."
Optionally the Whisperprop 48 V hybrid drive system can be equipped with an eMove Autopilot. This is suited for motor and sailing yachts. It can also be combined with symmetrical-hydraulic systems. Positioning data received by the GPS module is compared with the rudder position. A desired course can automatically be maintained by the touch of a button on the C3 Cockpit. All information is centrally gathered and seamlessly integrated so that additional displays and switches are no longer required. The actuating arm is driven by a spindle that can deliver a force of up to 600N. This is more than adequate for operating in strong wind conditions.
Further optional components are the propeller nozzle to prevent a propeller "walk" effect. More thrust, protection of the propeller and an improved rudder efficiency are further advantages of the propeller nozzle. Moreover a cruise control for automatic holding of course and speed can be installed.
