Fischer Panda nominated for DAME Award 2013
On the occasion of this year s METS which takes place in Amsterdam from 19 until 21 November 2013 the new Hybrid Power Module of Fischer Panda GmbH has been nominated for the DAME Award 2013.
The Hybrid Power Module (HPM) has been designed to easily upgrade a Fischer Panda variable-speed generator into an onboard hybrid power system.
It is a compact, light, inexpensive and modular unit.
The technology of the Hybrid Power Module works with a special DC converter. The connection to different battery voltages is possible, especially to the common 12V and 24V onboard battery banks.
Furthermore, Fischer Panda has designed the HPM for future propulsion systems with battery voltages of 48V or higher. The first units will be available in 2kW and 4 kW for 12V or 24V batteries.
An integrated battery charger feeds the power back into the battery if the power demand for the generator is lower than the nominal value.
The system concept is an easy plug&play system. All cables are supplied with the HPM. Even the battery cables with a length of 3 metres are part of the kit.
The mechanical mounting is carried out together with the inverter of the variable-speed generator so that the same mounting holes can be used for the Hybrid Power Module. No additional holes are necessary.
The Hybrid Power Module is integrated via a CAN bus into the control of the generator. The generator control recognises the HPM automatically. It can start the generator when the batteries need recharging.
From a total of 115 products 52 from 12 nations have been nominated to go forward for final judging by the DAME Jury. The winner of the DAME Award 2013 will be announced during the Breakfast Briefing at Amsterdam RAI on Tuesday 19 November 2013 from 8.00 a.m.
